Things to do on the Crystal Island
Koh Phangan is spoiled with an excellent culinary variety of international and Thai local eateries. Phangan surprises with a thriving coffee culture not only for the party peeps after also for the real coffee lover.
Most of the vegan restaurants are in the yogi village Srithanu. The best fish & seafood you will get in the traditional fisherman village Chaloklum. An there are much more great places for your taste bud explosion.
The beaches on Koh Pha-Ngan are some of the best in the Gulf of Thailand, and remain more popular for people wishing to avoid the crowds of Koh Samui. Not all have been developed, so there are still those quiet deserted beaches which can be very attractive. There is also snorkelling to be done, with many beaches having live-coral formations.
The Chinese Temple exists today because of the faith of Mrs Malawan. In 1990, when Koh Phangan was still largely without electricity, Mrs Malawan came to Sangthom Temple on Koh Phangan for ceremony of presenting to robes to the priests. During one night, sleeping outside with friends, Mrs Malawan dreamt about the Chinese Buddha, Jaomae Kuanim. The Buddha told her to build a frielight for the people. Mrs Malawan then returned to Bangkok to raise the funds and building was completed in 1992 (open from 8.00am to 5.00pm)
Wat Pho – Herbal & Sauna baths
Wat Pho is located at the start (and level selection) of the Baan Tai to Thong Nai Pan Road where the monks operate a traditional herbal steam sauna. Natural herbs such as lemongrass and other Asian remedies are heated by a long wood fire, creating steam that is filtered into the sauna. The herbal system has many health benefits from helping to reduce high cholesterol levels to improving skin conditions such as dry skin and eczema (open from 3-6pm).
Wat Kho Tam
Khao Tham (Mountain Cave) International Meditation Center was developed by Head Nun Mae Chee Ahmon, a Thai Buddhist nun for over 50 years, to provide a place for International travelers to practice Buddhist Meditation.
Khao Tham has been providing monthly meditation retreats by experienced meditation teachers since 1988. The purpose of the Khao Tham Center is only to spread the dhamma. There is no fee for teachings and meditation guidance. The physical running of the Center is supported entirely by your donations.

Wake Up! Wakeboarding
Wakeboarding is fun and easy to learn. Where better to do it than the warm tropical waters of Thailand? Learn from qualified instructors, with top quality boats and equipment, beginners and pros are all welcome. Wake Up! Wakeboarding is situated in the village of Chaloklum on the island of Koh Phangan and has been established now for over 10 years.
Koh Pha-Ngan has lovely sites around the island which are perfect for both beginners and trained divers. From easy dives off the beach to longer trips by boat you can experience the world of tropical diving. All of the dive sites directly around Koh Pha-Ngan are situated on the south west, west and north coasts of the island, with the highest concentration of sites being in the west.
The waters around Koh Pha-Ngan are much nicer than most people know: fine hard corals with a good range of reefs and tropical/pelagic fish.
During local dives you are likely to see a surprising variety of hard corals & a healthy cross section of reef & pelagic fish. The main structure of the reefs is hump coral (porites sp.), offering shelter to several different staghorn & table corals, plate & leaf corals, some extensive anemone corals, large brain corals (etc etc!) plus filter & soft corals on the deeper sites.
Around the Island Boat Trip
Enjoy a day on the water and experience the island from the ocean perspective. An unforgettable tour with snorkling, Thai food, a lots of laughter and fun with our famous Thai friend Chika and her family.
WE CAN’T WAIT TO SEE AND CELEBRATE WITH YOU!
